New California tax filing and tax payment deadline has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020 (due to COVID-19 pandemic).
This extension is automatic you don’t have to apply for it. Make sure not to wait until the last day. The faster you file the longer you have to make payments on it without having to pay interest. After July 15, 2020 you would have to pay interest if you owe money to the IRS.
